Rs 2.3 lakh cash belonging to a private company was stolen from its employee at a bank counter on Wednesday. According to police, C Nagireddy, an accountant in a private company, went to Andhra Bank located in Srinagar Colony around 2.30 pm to deposit money in the company’s account.

Reddy kept the cash, brought in a yellow packet, at the cash counter and filled the deposit form. When he finished the form, he noticed that the packet was missing. He immediately informed the bank officials and police. Police swung into action and examined the bank’s CCTV footage and found a man wearing a checked-shirt walking away with the packet.

They registered a case under Section 380 (theft) of the IPC, and are on the lookout for the accused.
