MPs Urged to Drop No-Trust Move, Decision on the Bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh. AICC Spokesman P C Chacko categorically declared that what the Seemandhra Congresss MPs are doing is an act of indiscipline and that it is wrong. “We will face it,” he said.

New Delhi: AICC general secretary in-charge of Andhra Pradesh Digvijay Singh on Tuesday appealed to the Seemandhra Congress MPs not to press ahead with the No-Confidence Motion. The Congress, which is clearly embarrassed by the open revolt of the Seemandhra Congress MPs, is trying hard to sort out the issue amicably. Digvijay Singh confirmed that he would be going to Hyderabad on Thursday.
Refusing to make much of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy’s pitch against the Congress High Command for the decision on the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, Digvijay Singh said, “Everyone has a right to express his own view. The decision of the Congress Working Committee (CWC) on the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh is final.” When told of the harsh words used by Kiran Reddy against the Congress High Command, Digvijay Singh said he did not know Telugu and he would have to see a translation. When told about the remarks of former Andhra Pradesh Minister J C Diwakar Reddy demanding resignation of Congress president Sonia Gandhi, he sidestepped the issue and refused to give an immediate response. Digvijay Singh said he would demand explanation from Diwakar Reddy.
Union Minister of State for Commerce D Purandeshwari said, “I will not support the No-Confidence Motion. It is unethical to move such a motion against the Government led by one’s own party. It is unfortunate that Congress MPs have moved the No-Confidence Motion.”
AICC Spokesman P C Chacko categorically declared that what the Seemandhra Congresss MPs are doing is an act of indiscipline and that it is wrong. “We will face it,” he said.
Chacko said the Congress had been divided on the issue of Telangana. Clearly there were two opinions in the Congress on Telangana from day one. The contradictory views on Telangana were persisting even now.
