New Delhi: AICC general secretary in-charge of Andhra Pradesh Digvijay Singh on Monday slammed the conduct of Andhra Pradesh legislators for tearing up the Telangana Bill, following its introduction in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly. No one should behave in such an unparliamentary way, he remarked, in an interaction with media persons.

Earlier, the issue of Notice of No-Confidence Motion by the Seemandhra MPs came up for discussion in the Congress Core Group meeting that took place in Parliament House soon after both Houses of Parliament adjourned for the day as a mark of respect over for Union Minister Sis Ram Ola, who passed away on Sunday.

Earlier the party planned to suspend the Seemandhra Congress MPs, but the party is waiting to see how the situation evolves.

Reacting to the ruckus in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly complex, Digvijay Singh said that whatever views the Seemandhra legislators had on the Telangana Bill could be expressed during the debate in the House. On the demand for Constitution amendment on Article 371-D, Digvijay Singh said these were issues that had to be brought during the debate in the House.

This was the very purpose of referring the Telangana Bill to the Andhra Pradesh Assembly, which was to elicit views and comments on each and every clause of the Telangana Bill. On the reported remark of YSRCP supremo Y S Jaganmohan Reddy against Digvijay Singh that he should be slapped, the AICC general secretary said, “Jagan is like son and I don’t mind it.
