Tirupati: Telugu Desam President N Chandrababu Naidu has given a clarion call to the people of all walks life to come out and fight for a corruption-free India.

Addressing a massive `Praja Garjana' meeting held here on Sunday, Naidu urged youth, doctors, lawyers, intellectuals, illiterate and even the media to join in the struggle to end rampant corruption and divisive politics which were engulfing the country. Describing the anti-corruption battle as the Kurukshetra war, he said it should not be the concern of TDP alone and that it needed collective struggle by the people. Naidu said “it is not for my sake or my family or party, but to save us all from the Anaconda of corruption.”

Naidu even administered a pledge by the gathering that they would strive to wage a relentless war against corruption and divisive politics and usher in a ‘Surajyam’ (good governance).

They should not rest till lakhs of crores of ill-gotten money stashed in foreign banks was brought back to be used for the welfare of the poor, he urged.

Making a scathing attack on the Congress party and its president Sonia Gandhi, he said the CWC and the core committee decision to bifurcate the State was part of a huge conspiracy to prevent the TDP from coming to power.

He reiterated his demand for doing equal justice (Sama Nyaya) to both regions of the State before the bifurcation. “For bifurcation, the consent of Seemandhra people is needed, and to remain united, it is obligatory to take the consent of Telangana people.

That is I have all along been pleading for a meeting of the leaders from the regions to discuss and sort out the issue amicably. I told this in 2008, and abide by such stance unlike others,” he said, hinting that YSRCP had changed its stand on the issue.

Ridiculing Rahul Gandhi for his call to fight against corruption, he said that the roots of corruption were nowhere but in his own house in the form of Robert Vadra (Muddula Bava), and wanted him to set his house right before preaching to others. “No sane person will vote for the Congress,”' he averred.

On corruption charges against him, he said that the two dozen inquiries ordered by the YSR at behest of Sonia Gandhi failed to prove anything, he said and dared his rivals Congress, TRS and YSRCP to initiate any probe against him.

Sharply reacting on Jaganmohan Reddy’s vituperative remarks against him, he said Jagan should first explain he got so much wealth and why he was put behind bars.

In his 90-minute address, he called upon people to draw inspiration from Mahatma Gandhi, Anna Hazare and the recent victory of Aam Aadmi Party. He squarely blamed Y S Rajasekhara Reddy for “corrupting the state, producing so many Anacondas.” “It is high time everyone joined in this Maha Yagnam to wipe out all the Anacondas, as was done by Raja Janamejaya during his Sarpa Yagam.”
