No more guess work on Minister for infrastructure and investments, Ganta Srinivasa Rao's future in politics. The minister himself has set a deadline to tell the world about which party he will join.
Ganta who has indicated several times that he wants to quit Congress because of its decision to divide the state, has finally set a date for making the announcement. Speaking to the media in Visakhapatnam, Ganta said that he will respond on quitting Congress only after January 23.
It is a known fact that January 23 is also the deadline for the House to table its opinion on the Telangana bill. Speculation is rife that Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy is planning to float a new political outfit after January 23. It seems Ganta will reveal his decision after these two happen.
When asked on whether he had received a show cause notice, Ganta reiterated that if he has to be served the notice, all the MLAs in Seemandhra region including the CM and the PCC chief should get the notice. He made it clear that he has not received any show-cause notice so far.
The minister demanded voting on every clause of the bill in the Assembly.
He also said that a delegation of 60 members from Kakinada will tour Visakhapatnam on January 18.
