The two children hailing from Chimalapadu of Ravikamatam in the district, along with their parents came to Ravikamatam to avail Bangaru Talli card under the Bangaru Talli scheme.

A month after a two-and-half-month old baby girl was killed in a stampede that broke out during a Rachabanda programme in Machareddy mandal of Nizamabad district , two more children have been killed unable to bear the cold in Visakhapatnam.

According to reports, the two kids' fate changed when they went to enroll their names in Bangaru Talli schemes which was launched by CM Kiran Kumar Reddy on May 1, 2013. Bangaru Talli offers financial support to the girl right from her birth till her graduation.

They waited till evening to get the scheme cards, but the officials failed to pay heed. After waiting long hours, they decided to go back to their homes in the evening. While returning, the children died because of extreme cold. The relatives of the children staged a dharna demanding the arrest of the officials.
