When they tried to switch loyalties to TDP, they faced severe flak from party leaders who objected to their move.
There were rumors that they were in touch with the BJP leaders and contemplating joining the party. Their recent presence at a workshop held by BJP leaders in Hyderabad - marathon run to collect iron for making Sardar Vallabhai Patel’s statue to be erected in Gujarat, strengthened the rumours.
Initially, they were in the Congress party. After the demise of YSR and their contemporary in the industry, Chiranjeevi merged his PRP with Congress, they joined Jagan's party. Later, they quit Jagan's party after a clash between Jagan and Rajashekar.
With the growing popularity of Modi, they couldn't find any other alternative party to join, thus Jeevita and Rajasekhar decided the saffron as their best bet.
The couple formally joined the BJP in presence of the party’s national president Rajnath Singh in Delhi. With two more actors, including Krishnam Raju who joined the party recently, the BJP has gained cine glamour.
