With the Rajya Sabha elections nearing, PCC chief Botsa Satyanarayana has begun lobbying for nominations of candidates.
According to sources, PCC chief Botsa Satyanarayana, Maheedhar Reddy and Finance minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy invited several Congress members at Anam's chamber to discuss party's strategy for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections.
According to sources, the Congress High Command had shortlisted the names of candidates and informed the same to Botsa. Botsa told the several Congress leaders that the High command is planning to field three candidates from the party and recommendation of fourth candidate will be decided after the support of TRS becomes clear.

The Congress has decided to conduct polls without cross voting. It is learnt that the High Command is planning to field two sitting MPs - KVP Ramchandra Rao, MA Khan and former IAS officer Koppula Raju as their candidates .
Meanwhile, notification for the biennial elections was issued today. As per the notification, elections for 55 Rajya Sabha seats will be held on February 7 and the last date for filing nominations is January 28. Candidates will be allowed to withdraw from the contest before January 30.
