CM's googly in AP Assembly: I am a Congressvadi!..Explaining that he was very much a Hyderabadi in heart, mind and spirit, the CM said his first sentence after he became a CM was 'I am a Hyderabadi'. "I was born and brought up in Hyderabad. Most of my friends are from Hyderabad. I did not play cricket for the Andhra team. I have represented the Hyderabad team. Even Telangana people have not roamed around the streets of Hyderabad the way I did. Beginning with walking, cycles, buses, cars and now convoy, I have roamed here. I have been to Karimnagar forest, Nizamabad and Adilabad. My relationship with Telangana is long lasting," the CM said adding he would lose emotional attachment if the state is divided and it pains to be projected as a Telangana opponent.
Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy began his second round of speech. Referring to his specially drafted document, the CM created an impression that Samaikyandhra is our policy, Jai Samaikyandhra is our slogan.
In his lengthy speech, Kiran Reddy touched upon several issues to justify his opposition to the division of state. He said: "If Telangana is granted statehood, there will be no problem for me personally. However, the split will create a lot of problems for the public living here."
He asked: "Imagine how painful it will be if Seemandhra people are asked to leave Hyderabad saying it is not theirs."

The CM also revealed that he requested Congress president Sonia Gandhi not to separate siblings by dividing the state. "I have questioned Sonia Gandhi the need for bifurcation. I have clearly explained to her that my father too is against the Jai Andhra movement."
Kiran Reddy never compromised on his Samaikyandhra stand as he made it clear to the Congress High Command that there may arise situations where people from both the regions will fight like enemies if the state is divided.
He also added that his Samaikyandhra stand was not to hurt or trouble anyone but for the benefit of people from both the regions.
Raking up the Naxalism issue, Kiran Reddy reiterated that Naxalite activities will increase if the State is divided. The top leaders in Maoist party are from Telangana and can face the Naxals issue if both the regions are combined. He also added that Hyderabad remained a sensitive region because of the communal sentiment and that police forces will be strong if the state remains united.
"The Central intelligent chief has already raised concern over security in AP in the event of Telangana state being carved out," he recalled.
Quoting former prime minister PV Narasimha Rao, Kiran Reddy said that though he is from Telangana, he stood for united AP. "In view of the future of AP and the country, state division is not good. Development programmes in the backward areas must be implemented with a large heart. This was said by PV Narasmiha Rao at Gandhi bhavan," said Kiran.
CM Kiran dispels rumours of new political party
After his fiery speech which the assembly heard with rapt attention, the CM signed off with: " I am a Samaikyavadi, but more than that I am a Congressvadi."
Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy made a futile attempt to put to rest rumours that he was soon floating a new political outfit, during today's Assembly session. With a handful of papers in his hand, Kiran Reddy said it pained him to be seen as a Telangana opponent.
That was not all. The CM reserved the best for the last. He concluded his speech with a googly which said: "I am a Samaikyavadi, but more than that I am a Congressvadi."
This was perhaps Kiran's strategy to put an end to all the speculation surrounding the new Samaikyandhra party whose loud Ads and posters are making the rounds on all the regional TV channels.
Political observers say that Kiran will anyway be expelled from the Congress for talking against them which would be a blessing in disguise for him. Then the CM will reveal about his new party.
Let's see what happens next.
