Viswaroop said it was not right on the part of Revanth Reddy to compare NTR with the father of Indian Constitution, Ambedkar.
The AP assembly witnessed arguments and counter arguments over the same. In his hour-long speech on the Telangana bill, TDP leader Revanth Reddy compared NTR with B.R Ambedkar.
Taking strong exception to this, former minister and YSR Congress Party leader, P. Viswaroop said it was not right on the part of Revanth Reddy to compare NTR with the father of Indian Constitution, Ambedkar.
The YSRCP leader asked Revanth: "During NTRs regime, there was a massacre on Dalits in Padirikuppam, Chunduru, Karemchedu and several villages. If they really thought NTR was like Ambedkar, why did they hurl slippers on NTR at the Vice Roy hotel?"
Joining Viswaroop, Government chief whip Gandra Venkata Ramana Reddy said that it was not right to compare the two leaders as history of both leaders are different. In a veiled reference to Naidu, Gandra said NTR was back-stabbed without even bothering to consider that he was a father-in-law.
Replying to this, Revanth Reddy said that Maneka Gandhi too was disowned by the Indira Gandhi family. NTR was unseated as per the constitutional rights, he added.
