History created at AP Assembly
First time in the history of AP Assembly that even ministers from the ruling party surrounded the Speaker's podium.
Demanding rejection of Chief Minister's notice to move a resolution to send back the Telangana Bill to the president, opposing the state's bifurcation, several members including Deputy Chief Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha, ministers Geetha Reddy, Saraiah, Sridhar Babu and Chief whip Gandra Venkataramana Reddy surrounded the Speaker's podium when the Assembly resumed its sessions on Monday.
Over the many years since the movement began, Telangana ministers had never once left their seats. However, the CM's notice has made them to leave their seats and join other members in disrupting the House.
This move has shocked everyone in the House, including the Speaker.
This is the first time a Deputy CM created a ruckus at the Speaker's podium.
The Deputy CM said the Assembly has never had a history of ministers protesting at the Speaker's podium. From now on, you will see our Viswaroopam.
Amid the din, the speaker adjourned the proceedings for half an hour within five minutes after the session began at 9 am.
The speaker rejected the adjournment motions moved by the TDP and the YSRCP on the state division issue and sought to take it up during the Question Hour.
