The bus was carrying more than 44 passengers from Bangalore to Vijayawada.
Soon as the bus hit the divider, passengers tried to open the door but it was locked. The oil tanker burst caused panic among passengers, who broke open the emergency windows and jumped off along with children and ladies.
The panicked passengers say that it was a narrow escape for them as smoke emanating from the tanker could have soon engulfed the bus into flames if none had observed.
