Congress reply to BJP: 6 Seemandhra MPs sacked!

Congress suspends 6 rebel MPs from Seemandhra. It may be recalled that Six Seemandhra MPs - Sabbam Hari, R Sambasivarao, Harshakumar, Sai Pratap, Lagadapati Rajagopal and V Arunkumar had moved a no-confidence motion against the UPA government.

In a fitting reply to the BJP which had demanded that the UPA government set-right its own members of the House in order to get the Telangana Bill passed, the Congress has expelled its six rebel Seemandhra MPs on Tuesday.

AICC Disciplinary Committee has approved the expulsion of six Andhra Pradesh MPs with approval from the AICC President Sonia Gandhi. According to the press release, Congress president Sonia Gandhi has approved the decision of the disciplinary committee of AICC to expel six members of the Parliament from Andhra Pradesh with immediate effect.

Six rebel Seemandhra MPs had moved a no-confidence motion against their own party led UPA government at the Centre were suspended from the party in the current and previous Parliamnet session.

It may be recalled that Six Seemandhra MPs - Sabbam Hari, R Sambasivarao, Harshakumar, Sai Pratap, Lagadapati Rajagopal and V Arunkumar had moved a no-confidence motion against the UPA government.

The leaders had been vehemently criticizing the party ever since the CWC announced is decision to divide the state.

When Lagadapati was asked about the expulsion, he said "I learnt about this only through the media. But officially, I have not received any information yet. We are ready to quit politics for the Samaikyandhra cause. Suspension from the party is not a big matter for us," he said.

"If the Congress sacks us, public will sack it," he quipped.

Guntur MP Rayapati Sambasiva Rao said that they will announce their future course of action after February 21.

Responding to the news of expulsion, Rayapati said that they signed the no-confidence motion only after being prepared for everything.

He also said that their no-confidence motion was not against the Congress party, but its decision to divide Andhra Pradesh.

Many leaders are of the view that they will be suspended from the Lok Sabha too as they will stall the proceedings when the Telangana Bill is introduced in the Parliament.
