Medaram (Warangal): The ‘Vanapravesham’ of deity Sammakka was conducted here on Saturday concluding the four-day Sammakka and Saralamma Jatara that witnessed participation of about 1.30 crore devotees.

During the evening hours after the religious rituals, deity Sammakka was taken to Chilukalaguta hillocks two kilometres away from Medaram and would be there until the next jatara scheduled to be held in 2016.

The deity Sarakka was taken to her temple at Kannepalli village located five kilometres from Medaram village. Similarly, deities Pagididdaraju and Govindarajulu were also taken to their respective places by the tribal priests.

As soon as the deities left the Gaddelu (altars), the devotees too have started their journey back to their homes from Medaram village. Tribals and non-tribal population from across the state and neighbouring states have attended the historic jatara that began on Wednesday. During the morning hours of the day, the village received rain and it drizzled for about fifteen minutes and the devotees who took it as the showers of blessings continued to rush towards the altar to have a darshan of the deities.

Collector G Kishan and Rural Superintendent of Police Lella Kalidas speaking to press persons stated that the jatara was conducted in a successful manner and expressed gratitude to all those for their cooperation.
