The dreams of thousands of pro-Telangana activists became true on February 18 when Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar approved the much-awaited Telangana Bill by a positive voice vote.

Soon as news broke of Telangana being granted a separate statehood, celebrations began across the state. The mood in Hyderabad city was a mix of joy and sorrow.

Scores of Telangana activists were seen holding pink flags and taking out a procession to celebration of the formation of Telangana.
