Chiranjeevi's U-turn? 'I Won't Quit Congress'. While Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy announced that he was quitting Congress for dividing the state and playing with the sentiments of Telugu people, actor-turned-politician Chiranjeevi chose to go the other way.

While Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy announced that he was quitting Congress for dividing the state and playing with the sentiments of Telugu people, actor-turned-politician Chiranjeevi chose to go the other way.

It's a known fact that Chiranjeevi had claimed himself to be Samaikyandhra supporter and he was also seen on the well of the House during the Parliament sessions. However, now he seems to have given up his hope and decided to stick to Congress.

If a recent report doing the rounds is anything to go by, then Chiranjeevi will not leave his party. Apparently, Chiranjeevi is believed to have said something like 'we did out best but in vain'.

Soon after the Lok Sabha gave its nod to the Telangana Bill, Chiranjeevi said: “As a Congress leader, I might not have gone against our party High Command. But, I tried my level best to inform the concerns of the people from Seemandra region to our them.”

As if to signify that it was too late to do anything now, Chiru said: “We will fight for some corrections in AP Reorganisation Bill – 2013 in Rajya Sabha. We will try to protect the interests of people in Seemandhra region in the upper house too, the way we fought for them in the lower house.”

To escape the wrath of Seemandhra people and play it safe, Chiru is believed to have said that the Centre initiated the bifurcation process only after consent from all the political parties in the state.

Does it mean the union minister was very much with Congress and playing all along?

Should we call this a U-turn?
