Kiran Reddy, The New Seemandhra Hero, CM Kiran Quits. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister announced his resignation from his posts and party saying he was strongly opposed to the Congress High Command's decision to divide the state.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister announced his resignation from his posts and party saying he was strongly opposed to the Congress High Command's decision to divide the state.
The CM also mentioned that he was resigning to stand by Telugu people in times of distress. Interestingly, Kiran also iterated that protecting the interests of Telugu was more important for him than furthering his political career.
Well, to begin with his statements were met with a round of thunderous applause from the media persons and his supporters as if to say they were approving his decision.
Samaikyandhra supporters are naturally thrilled with this move and hailing him as the new Seemandhra hero after Lagadapati. It may be recalled that Lagadapati was called the modern day Bhagat Singh after his pepper spray incident in the Parliament. Now, we wonder who CM Kiran will be compared to.
Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh governor ESL Narasimhan has requested Kiran to continue as the caretaker chief minister.
On the other hand, speculation over Kiran floating a new political outfit has gained momentum. However, the buzz in the political circles is that CM Kiran is a puppet in the scripted play of the Congress leadership. Many believe that Kiran is acting at the behest of the Congress High Command.
While it remains to be seen if Kiran will indeed float a new political party, Seemandhra will continue to hold him in high respects after his resignation. This is because many people who had called themselves Seemandhra supporters have either backed off or stayed mum on their resignations after the Telangana Bill was passed by the Lok Sabha.

Thus when compared to the other leaders, it looks like only CM Kiran can give a tough competition to Lagadapati when it comes to displaying strong Seemandhra sentiment.
