Ganta, TG, Erasu to join TDP after Feb 27

The Congress party's fortunes in Seemandhra regions is nothing to cheer about. That explains why a majority of Congress leaders are planning to make a switch!

The first name that has been doing the rounds for quite sometime now is G Srinivasa Rao.

Ever since TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu marked his presence at the wedding of Ganta's daughter, speculations of Ganta joining TDP have refused to die down.

Giving credence to the rumors, Ganta who represents the Anakapalle Assembly constituency, met several TDP leaders including CM Ramesh and Garikapati Rammohan Rao in Hyderabad. He is understood to have finalised the date of his joining.

Ganta was accompanied by another minister Erasu Pratap Reddy. Erasu who had been hinting that he would be joining Kiran's new party caused a stir in political circles on Monday when he met the TDP leaders.

According to indications, both the leaders are expected to join the TDP on March 8 at a public meeting.

The other leaders whose names have been doing the rounds are - Avanti Srinu (Bheemili) and C Venkataramaiah (Gajuwaka) who are reportedly planning to join the TDP along with Ganta.

Another minister TG Venkatesh also appears to have decided to switch over to TDP. All these leaders were scheduled to meet Chandrababu today. But after news of them switching loyalties spread like wildfire, they called off their meeting with Naidu at the last minute without reasons. TDP leaders say that Ganta will be meeting Chandrababu on February 27.
