KCR targeting Cong, TDP leaders in Medak, K Chandrasekhar Rao, Patancheru legislator Nandishwar Goud. Another Congress leader being targeted by KCR is Andhole MLA and former Deputy Chief Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha, who is not inclined to join TRS.
Medak: Pink party chief K Chandrasekhar Rao seems to be targeting both Congress and TDP leaders as part of the ’operation attraction’. He has been allowing leaders from other parties to join TRS, with a views to strengthen it.
At the same time, KCR is said to be scheming to ensure defeat of the targeted Congress leaders by focusing attention on the constituencies of former ministers and MLAs. Patancheru legislator Nandishwar Goud was one such target, who was invited by KCR for lunch, with a request to join TRS. Goud had almost finalized the ‘muhurat’ for the switchover. The last-minute Congress intervention with an assurance that he would be given the ticket made him change. Thus he is stated to have given a sock to KCR.
Another Congress leader being targeted by KCR is Andhole MLA and former Deputy Chief Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha, who is not inclined to join TRS. . Hence the pink party leader has set his eyes on Damodar’s TDP rival prominent actor Babu Mohan, with whom party men have been discussions.
Even if the TDP leader were to join TRS, a last-minute poll alliance with the Congress may see Rajanarasimha getting the Andhole ticket. However, he is said to be preparing to cross over into TRS at a huge public meeting in Jogipet on March 25, claiming that there won’t be Congress-TRS alliance. Along with Babu Mohan the party cadre is likely to switch over.
The TRS lacks a strong SC leader in the constituency, where the Congress holds sway. As such if Babu Mohan were to contest as a TDP nominee he would surely score. Hence, after he switches to TRS, KCR reportedly held out an assurance that party would ensure his win. Earlier, the party had planned to field student leader Errolla Srinivas, who may be accommodated at Zahirabad.
Other KCR targets in the Congress are said to former Minister Sunita Lakshma Reddy, who represents Narsapur, Narayankhed and Gajwel MLAs P Kishta Reddy and Narsi Reddy respectively. However, Sunita clarified that she would remain in the party. The TRS chief is stated to be using a party MLA from Nizamabad district to make Kishta Reddy’s TDP opponent Vijaypal Reddy fall in line.
KCR is going ahead with plans to ensure that there is no strong opponent both in Medak Lok Sabha and Gajwel assembly seats, where he is likely to be the party nominee. He is said to be utilizing MLA T Harish Rao for this purpose.
