Congress Party fears of rebels. The last week was very hectic for the Congress Party leaders to finalize the candidates for the looming polls.
Hyderabad: The last week was very hectic for the Congress Party leaders to finalize the candidates for the looming polls. Now, it’s the time to pacify the rebels who filed nominations.
It is evident that many leaders who expected party ticket had submitted their papers as independents from the constituency they expected to file nomination papers on Congress Party ticket.
As many as 6 Congress leaders have filed their nominations as independents. The party echelon has been trying to pacify the rebels to withdraw their nominations as soon as possible. Jairam Ramesh has made his entry for the very purpose, reportedly. There is no doubt the party will face a great blow with the nominations filed by the rebels, if they continue to stay till the final fray.
Additionally, the rebels have filed nominations from the constituencies which have been reserved for the CPI. The leaders of Communist Party of India have taken the matter seriously and have been holding meetings to decide whether to continue or discard the alliance tied up with Congress Party for the looming elections.
