Medak: There is a mad scramble for getting party ticket to contest the Medak Lok Sabha seat, which will go for by-election when Telangana CM-designate, K Chandrasekhar Rao vacates it for Gajwel Assembly seat.

There is stiff competition in TRS among former IAS officer K V Ramanachary, poet-singer Desapathi Srinivas, district president R Satyanarayana, Mynampalli Hanumanth Rao, who lost the Malkajgiri Lok Sabha election and Kotha Prabhakar Reddy.

The name of TNGO president Deviprasad is doing the rounds. Telangana protagonists feel that if he is given the ticket, the winning prospects will brighten.

Satyanarayana, who has also been active in Telangana agitation, gave up his Legislative Council membership at the instance of KCR. He had to sacrifice his chance for Sangareddy Assembly seat in favour of Chinta Prabhakar. Kotha Prabhakar Reddy had eyed the Dubbaka Assembly seat.

In the Congress Dr. Sravan Kumar, who lost to KCR, had secured two lakh votes. He is hopeful of getting the party ticket. Among the aspirants are former minister Sunita Lakshma Reddy, Nandishwar Goud and actress Vijayshanti.

Turpu Jayaprakash Reddy (Jagga Reddy) who lost the Sangareddy Assembly seat is said to be trying for the BJP ticket, using his closeness to Jana Sena Party leader, Pawan Kalyan. Chagandla Narendranath (BJP) who was among the losers in the Medak Lok Sabha poll, is said to be trying to re-enter the fray, along with former MLA K Satyanarayana and Raghunandan Rao.
