Roja spits venom at Bojjala Gopalakrishna Reddy

Actor-turned-politician Roja addressed the Andhra Pradesh Assembly on Thursday. She made a passionate speech over the rights of women, loan waivers of Dwakra women and belt shops. She slammed Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for not keeping up the promises he made during elections.

During her speech, IT Minister Palle Raghunatha Reddy asked the Speaker to talk and countered Roja that she did not even have the minimum eligibility to speak against the TDP. He pointed to Roja’s double standards saying the latter had slammed YSR when she had campaigned for TDP Party earlier.

Roja replied to the TDP minister saying that the chief of your party Chandrababu too had criticized TDP when he was in Congress and said that TDP lacks substance and thus cannot sustain for a long time.

"I fight for the women rights all the time no matter what party I represent,” retorted the actor-turned-politician

Meanwhile, Forest Minister Bojjala Gopalakrishna Reddy criticized Roja and said that she possessed an 'iron leg'.

Roja replied to Bojjala Gopalakrishna Reddy and said: “He calls mine an iron leg but in 1999, when I went for canvass to his constituency for about 26 days, I realized that he had the Iron leg. He was the person in the car when Chandrababu met with an accident. A day before YSR's death also he went and met YSR at his camp office," she also advised the TDP minister to see a doctor to check his mental balance as he may have lost it during the accident.

She also slammed former Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy for not implementing the Bangaru Thalli padhakam in a successful way which has resulted in problems for the women.

She praised women with a proverb that “gorantha sayam tho kondantha pani” women can do better without help.
