Visakhapatnam: The Flower Show coupled with folk and cultural events organised at the Vuda Park was not only the main attraction of the Visakha Utsav on Sunday but also evoked tremendous response by drawing crowds. The district officials were forced to extend the show for one more day on Monday following tremendous response.
Visitors of all age groups enjoyed the fragrance and beauty of flowers at the floral fest and thronged from morning itself soon after opening of the flower show. Unique arrangements and collection of flowers, vegetable and fruit carving, dry and cut flowers of different appearances, collection of roses, especially the Bonsai varieties were attracting the visitors.
Further, the Japanese style of arrangement, Ikebana, was a major attraction in the flower show impressing the viewers. Personal monitoring by vice chairman T Baburao Naidu has its impact in making the Flower Show amazing. Similarly, a Laser Show arranged by the Vuda atop Kailasagiri also mesmerised Vizagites.
The tourists enjoyed amazing display of laser beams spreading across five kilometers radius from Kailasagiri since Friday evening.
On the other side, cultural programmes organised at the Vuda Park, Kailasagiri and Gurajada Kalakshetram continued to enthral audience and among other events, classical, folk, fusion and western dances, mimicry, magic shows, dance ballets and comedy shows attracted he visitors all the three days. The non-stop folk dances by girls of Thimmapuram Vignan Vidyalayam, Sivatandavam by students of Vijayam School, comedy skits by Hasya Priya Comedy Club, fusion dances by Amrutha Kalanilayam artistes, a colourful dance ballet showcasing the cultures of India by students of Sanskruthi Global School of Parawada, classical dance ballet Mahishasura Mardini by children of Saraswathi Nritya Kalamandir, mimicry by Bendalam Sudhakar, adventure acts by a physically challenged artist V G Dhanaraj of Gajuwaka during the festival entertained the visitors. Cine musical orchestra by Saragamalika of P S S Kumar extended melodious music while classical dances by children of Keystone School, Fort City School of Vizianagaram and special schools received a great applause.
Atop Kailasagiri, traditional fisher folk dances and folk songs by Navachaitanya Natya Kalamandali of Tagarapuvalasa, Kolatam by women team of Rongalinaidupalem, magic show by Attar, mono action by K Jyothika, western dances by children of Step- Up Entertainers, Telugu and Hindi Ghazals by K S Chandrasekhar and team and Melody Shankar’s cine musical orchestra were held. Students of Rishi Vidyalaya Gurukulam of Bodavalas mesmarised with their amazing performance of classical dance ballet ‘Navarasalu’ with live music at Gurajada Kalakshetram. The team of Visakha Arts and Dance Association presented another dance ballet ‘Natyasangamam’ unveiling the dance forms of India.
