AP Mountaineer Malli Mastan Babu\'s Dead Body Found in Andes. Indian mountaineer and fastest seven summiteer in the world, Malli Mastan Babu, who was missing since March 24 while on an expedition to the Andes Mountains in Argentina, has been found dead by authorities in South America, said reports on Saturday. \"Mountains retained its favourite child.. Indian mountaineer and fastest seven summiteer in the world, Malli Mastan Babu, who was missing since March 24 while on an expedition to the Andes Mountains in Argentina, has been found dead by authorities in South America, said reports on Saturday. The Ministry of External Affairs of India was in touch with the governments in South America over the search for Malli Mastan Babu.

An M. Tech from IIT Kharagpur, he also had a PGDM from IIM Calcutta.
He first worked as a senior Software Engineer for 3 years from 1998 - 2001.

# Malli trekked extensively in Indian and Nepal Himalayas. He undertook "Grand circuit"trek of Torres Del Paine National Park in Chile.
In Himalayan experience was traversing the Everest Base Camp covering Gokyo Lakes, Chukung and Everest Base camp . He had trekked from Gorak shep to Namchee bazar (42 km, Everest marathon route) in one day Accomplished Kalapatar(18,481ft) and Everest base(17,600 ft) camp on the same day. Had trekked from Chukung to Gorak shep via kongma la pass on the same day!
He was also the founder of IIM Calcutta Adventure Club, 2003
He was awarded Dr. B.C. Roy Award for best outstanding contribution to campus in recognition for the initiation of IIM C Adventure Club
