The police had to resort to lathicharge to control the inflow of crowd over-pouring at the Pushkar Ghat in Kotagummam area of Rajahmundry on Tuesday.
The police had to resort to lathicharge to control the inflow of crowd over-pouring at the Pushkar Ghat in Kotagummam area of Rajahmundry on Tuesday.
Following a stampede which has claimed 25 people, the police stopped the crowd from entering the ghat where stampede occurred. However, the pilgrims tried to barge in from three gates.
To control the crowd, the police resorted to mild lathicharge. According to reports, a few people sustained injuries. The situation is said to have been brought under control swiftly.
