Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) on Monday took a key decision of offering one laddu weighing 100 gm as prasadam free for all the pilgrims who visit the shrine of Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala. This facility earlier was available only to VVIPs and trekkers while the ordinary pilgrims had to purchase the laddus.

Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) on Monday took a key decision of offering one laddu weighing 100 gm as prasadam free for all the pilgrims who visit the shrine of Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala. This facility earlier was available only to VVIPs and trekkers while the ordinary pilgrims had to purchase the laddus.


TTD chairman Chadalavada Krishna Murthy, disclosing the decisions taken at the Trust Board meeting said that the foundation stone for the Thousand-Pillar Mandapam's construction will be laid by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. The mandapam is said to be designed to accommodate 7,000 people at a time in Tirumala.


The TTD chairman further said that after the conclusion of Brahmotsavams, 300 tickets will be sold both at Tirumala and Tirupati through current booking. The TTD have been advised by the board to prepare a procurement policy for the purchase of all its requirements.


The meet was attended by TTD EO D Sambasiva Rao along with the trust board members Pilli Anantha Lakshmi, Kolla Lalitha Kumari, Dolla Sree Bala Veeranjaneya, Gyanni Sayanna, Putta Sudhakar Yadav, A V Ramana, Suchithra Ella, P Hariprasad, DP Anantha, J Sekhar, Sampath Ram Narayanan, Vaidyanathan Krishnamoorthy, K Raghavendra Rao, JSV Prasad and G Bhanu Prakash Reddy.
