The two judge bench of the High Court at Hyderabad comprising acting Chief Justice Dilip B Bhosale and Justice S V Bhatt on Tuesday directed the Education Secretaries of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana to meet and come to a conclusion on the issue of students continuing to study in Telangana colleges.

The bench pointed out that Section 75 of the AP Reorganisation Act made it mandatory for the common institutions like B R Ambedkar Open University and Potti Sriramulu Telugu University located in one of these two states to extend services to people of the other State for the first one year without any hindrance.

The bench directed the governments of both states to come to an understanding within the stipulated time and if the governments failed to do so, it would be the duty of the Central government to intervene after one year.
