Union Urban Development Minister M Venkaiah Naidu today hit out at Congress over Andhra Pradesh unit of the opposition party for filing police complaints against the leadership of BJP and TDP for them allegedly not fulfilling their poll promises made to the bifurcated state.

Heard of Andhra Cong leaders filing cases against PM, AP CM and myself on the issue of promises made in AP Reorganisation Act. One would agree that there is a limit to such political madness. Such cheap publicity gimmicks serve no purpose, Naidu tweeted.

The senior BJP leader hitting back, alleged that if one were to go by the Congress logic, none of the former PMs, CMs and ministers would be out of jail for their betrayal of nation on several promises made since Independence. Ridiculing the opposition party, he said One day Congress may file a case against Surya Bhagwan if sun rays are not seen in time, blocked by clouds. Congress shall overcome its frustration.

Alleging that the ruling TDP-BJP combine has deceived the people of Andhra Pradesh on promises like granting special status to the state, Congress had yesterday filed police complaints on the issue. Congress leaders gave complaints at different police stations in the state against the ruling coalition, accusing it of cheating and deceiving the people of Andhra by not fulfilling promises the two parties gave ahead of elections.
