Lorry mishap in East Godavari: Absconding lorry driver surrenders before police

As many as 18 people were killed and several others injured when a lorry overturned near Gundepalli in West Godavari district. According to police, the driver was apparently drowsy and lost control of the lorry, which caused the accident.

Soon after the accident, driver Jogi Srinu and cleaner fled from the spot. The driver later surrendered before the police. He turned up at the Nakkapally police station on Monday morning. He belongs to Kottapolavaram of S.Rayavaram mandal in Visakha district.
