Hyderabad: Keeping aside the political differences between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, the AP government has agreed to send 1,761 police personnel to Telangana to help the government in to maintain law and order during Ganesh immersion and Bakrid festival.
Despite the constraints like managing festivals like Tirumala Brahmotsavam, Ganesh idol immersion and Bakar-Eid, which require deployment of adequate force in Andhra Pradesh, the AP DGP J V Ramudu informed his counterpart in Telangana,
Anurag Sharma, that AP would keep 1,761 policemen at the disposal of TS government. AP Additional DG (Law and Order) RP Thakur said that about 161 officers and 1,600 men would be sent to Hyderabad to take part in bandobust.
