Autumn Moon Festival a treat for seafood lovers

A 15-day Autumn Moon Festival got underway at Bay Leaves Restaurant of The Gateway Hotel on Wednesday bringing the authentic Vietnamese and Chinese cuisine to tickle the taste buds of food connoisseurs. Autumn Moon Festival marks the Vietnamese and Chinese harvest festival, which falls on September 15.

The ethnic Vietnamese and Chinese cuisine consists of 80 per cent sea food and 20 per cent poultry. The dishes prepared using imported spices that suit the Andhra taste, are a real treat. Spices are used in generous amount to create the magic with seafood.

Crunchy sesame baby corn, sliced lamb in black bean sauce, slow fried chicken, Thai Bali prawns, dragon whole crab, mustard chilli fish, lobster cooked with mix of vegetable dumplings, pan grilled tofu, Singapore spring rolls, Kung Pao vegetables and burnt garlic noodles are some of the popular dishes on the menu, in addition to a huge spread of delicious desserts.

Hotel sales and marketing manager Shabul Hussain said, “We are organising the food festivals regularly to enable food connoisseurs of the city to taste international cuisine. Autumn Moon Festival, which is similar to Sankranti, has a rich significance in China and Vietnam.

The cuisine is a real feast for seafood lovers. The food festival is open for dinner a-la-carte.’’ Chief Chefs Babuli Nayak, Abhinaya Srivastav, executive chef Subbarayulu and general manager Sumanji Tiwari were also present on the occasion.
