“Industrial experience and practical knowledge are the primary requisites for nailing jobs in any field. There are plenty of opportunities in the field of Defense Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) for the befitting candidate’’, said the DRDO project Director Y Srinivasa Rao.

He addressed the students of Computer Science department of PB Siddhartha College of Arts and Science at their annual fete called ‘Blitzkrieg- 2015’. The event has hundreds of students from neighboring Colleges and districts to take part in various cultural and literary programmes, in the city on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion, Srinivasa Rao emphasized on the need for developing quest for Science among students in the institutions. He opined that Science temper leads to innovation where innovation gives rise to creation that is exchanged for money. With this money, there is development and economic growth, he said.

College principal MVN Padma Rao said the department had been organising the annual event since 2006 to unearth the hidden talent of students. The students who belong to Computer Science Department of undergraduate programmes took part in the event. The competitions include Group Dance, Treasure Hunt, Poster designing, Coding and De-coding, Technical Quiz, Photography and others.

The host college organised a fashion show on the occasion. Every participant is given a participation certificate and prizes were given away to first three winners of every category. Secretary of the College V Babu Rao, head of the department Kavuri Sridhar and other faculty were present during the event.
