His musical journey started in 2000 and since then he never had to look back as he had continuous hits to his credit.
On Friday, Aqeel was in the city playing his heart-thumping numbers to the crowd at Hard Rock Café. Talking about the visit, Aqeel said, “I feel happy seeing my fans at Hyderabad while am performing. I stuck to Bollywood Indian mix music for my gig.”
He is the only DJ to play twice at the World Economic Forum in Davos (Swiss) on behalf of India amusing the likes of Bill Clinton, Kofi Annan amongst others. Aqeel expresses, “My love for music was my inspiration to become a DJ. I listen to a lot of old songs and my favorite singers are Kishore kumar and Atif Aslam.” Being for 15 years in the field as a DJ was unexpected for the DJ.
In this period, he has had nine blockbuster albums and has sold over seven million copies universally that redefined the scenario of Bollywood music. “I mostly remix all the 40’s musical hits as there are very soothing to here. I select all the songs on my own. It needs a lot of hard work,” Aqeel explains.
