He addressed women of tribal community who are working in several Self Help Groups (SHG) in the district, at a meeting organised by the Vasavya Mahila Mandali. On the occasion, Suri Babu said that NABARD is encouraging activities that empower women of talent.

With the help of streamlining the artists, we would improve their quality and reach. With individual groups maintaining the product and selling at their nearest market, the product or service is limited. With the initiative by Vasavya Mahila Mandali, we plan for guidance, raw product supply, and quality enhancement, labeled and appealingly packed products to improve their market as well as to promote the handmade products of the tribal women.

Deputy manager of NABARD, Krishna district M Madhu Murthy said that the Mahila Mandali has applied for starting a ‘Vasavya SHG Producer Organisation’, which involves tribal and other rural women of a sector to unite and progress together to greater heights. After mobilization and execution of the project, we would come out with an outlet exclusively for these products. We intend to build capacity, the art of commercializing the product by labeling and thus taking it to places.

Online marketing can be taught for the women with zeal and commitment, he added. Meanwhile, women SHG’s from Kankipadu, Kolavennu, Tadepalli, Velpuru, Agiripalli, Veeravalli, Gannavaram, Yadlapalli displayed their craft on the sidelines of the meeting. The display included beautifully hand embroidered designer clothes, sarees, paper made show pieces, flowers and more. Secretary of VMM G Rashmi, Dr Keerthi and others were present during the event.
