NDRF conducts tsunami mock drill. A mock drill was conducted by National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) at Suryalanka village on Saturday, as part of creating awareness to the people of the village in the event of a Tsunami disaster striking their coast.
A mock drill was conducted by National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) at Suryalanka village on Saturday, as part of creating awareness to the people of the village in the event of a Tsunami disaster striking their coast.
The mock drill demonstrated how people should behave; respond to officials and the cooperation they should extend for safety measures. The team of officials from police, fire personnel, fisheries, medical and health and revenue swung into action during the training session.
The mock drill also demonstrated to the people how the officials took measures on a war footing and rescued 257 people from the disaster zone to safety. Tenali RDO Narasimhulu and DSP Ramana, municipal commissioner Ramesh and Tahsildar Valayya participated in the mock drill.
