The AP Bullion Gold Silver and Diamond Merchants Association State president K Vijay Kumar said that unilateral decisions of the Labor Department has been benefiting the corporate gold jewel companies, besides suppressing the rights of small and medium jeweler makers.

Speaking at the executive committee meeting of the association held here on Sunday, Vijay Kumar appealed to the Labour Department to provide permissions for small and medium jewelers to run their business in the year completely on the lines of corporate gold jewel companies.

Harassment form the officials has been increasing by the day as they impose huge fines to the jewel makers considering the weightage difference of 5 to 10 milli gram.

A memorandum will be submitted to the Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu over the issue for the better interest of the small and medium jeweler makers, he said and added that measures will be taken in providing 916 hall mark gold items for the convenience of the customers.

The AP Bullion Gold Silver and Diamond Merchants Association State secretary S Kanthi Lal Jain, honorary president D Shankar Rao, The Bezwada Jewelers and Bullion Merchants Association president KJN Prasad, vice president KV Jaganmohan Rao and members of the 13 districts were also present at the meeting.
