Irrigation water clash between AP, Karnataka farmers

Farmers at the borders of AP and Karnataka at Agili in Anantapur district clashed over irrigation water. Rumours were rife over Karnataka farmers removing the barrage of Agalimangalam Suvarnamukhi.
But with Karnataka farmers announcing that they would demolish the bund constructed across Suvarnamukhi river, a large number of farmers reached the spot to demolish it. However, with the AP farmers present at the bund, the Karnataka farmers were obstructed from demolishing the bund.
Heated arguments took place between the farmers and resulted in clash due to which Police had to intervene and prevented the situation from turning worse. Tumkur SP Karthik Reddy reached the place at Agli to review the situation and implemented 144 section in the region.
