Meet on need and role of nano sciences in present era on Oct 7-8

The department of Physics, Post Graduation of PB Siddhartha Arts and Science College is to organise a two day national conference on ‘Need and Role of Nano Sciences in Present Era’, from October 7th, at the College premises. The seminar will be attended by delegates and experts from places like Pondicherry and Indore besides others.

Addressing the newsmen at the College on Monday, head of the department of Physics, Prof K Krishna Murthy said that the conference is sponsored by the UGC and is being held to focus and bring out the aspects of Nano technology in the today’s world. 50 abstracts have been received so far from the delegates and these presentations are scheduled to be held at end of the two days of the conference, he said.

Topics like Recent trends in Nano dimensional materials and devices, Use of Nano Sensors in embedded systems, Plasmonic Nanostructures-their emerging applications, Evolution of nanotechnology, movement at Nanoscale and lessons from Molecular motors and a few will be discussed in detail.

For registration, faculty should pay a sum of Rs 400, delegates from industry is required to pay Rs 600 and Rs 200 for any student who wants to take part in the seminar, said Krisna Murthy. A brochure of the two day conference is released.
