Weaves of India comes to city. Krishna Zilla Parishad Chairperson Gadde Anuradha formally inaugurated the Weaves of India handloom exhibition at the TTD Kalyana Mandapam in the city on Wednesday.

Krishna Zilla Parishad Chairperson Gadde Anuradha formally inaugurated the Weaves of India handloom exhibition at the TTD Kalyana Mandapam in the city on Wednesday. Handloom weavers and artisans from 14 States, including Rajasthan, Gujarat, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Odisha, West Bengal and Jammu and Kashmir, showcased their wares at the six-day exhibition being organised by the Gramin Hastkala Vikas Samiti.

A wide range of handloom products and a variety of handicrafts were displayed at the expo. The expo starts at 10:30 am and closes for the day at 8:30 pm. Jayesh Kumar Gupta of Weaves of India said, ``The main objective of the exhibition is to provide better marketing facility to handloom weavers and artisans for their products.

We have organised over 150 handloom exhibitions in 25 cities across India since our inception in 1997. Through these exhibitions, we are able to create a good market for handloom fabrics and ensure remunerative price to weavers for their products by eliminating the role of middlemen.’’
