Bathukamma at Amaravati

TTDP is putting in all efforts to make the gala event a grand success making arrangements to present colourful ‘Bathukammas’ (conical flower arrangements) in a big way at the foundation ceremony at Amaravati.

Hyderabad: The Telangana unit of Telugu Desam Party is planning to present Bonalu and Bathukamma at Amaravati, the emerging capital of Andhra Pradesh, for which Prime Minister Narendra Modi is to lay foundation on the day of Dasara (October 22).

The TTDP is putting in all efforts to make the gala event a grand success by collecting water and soil (Neeru & Matti) from every village as its contribution to the building of people’s capital.

It is also making arrangements to present colourful ‘Bathukammas’ (conical flower arrangements) in a big way at the foundation ceremony.

Besides, the Prime minister, many VVIPs from across the world are attending the event. The Telangana TDP women’s wing has been given the responsibility to prepare a mammoth Bathukamma, a senior party leader who did not wish to be named told

The Hans India, adding that party chief Naidu was more attracted to Bathukamma festival. Continuing the tradition followed earlier by the Chief Minister, the party will gift Bathukamma to Naidu at the venue.

“In fact, it is an effort to prove that culture has no boundaries and barriers despite the Telugu speaking people are divided,” the party leader said.

In the similar way, a Bonam (offering to mother goddess) prepared during Bonalu festival in Telangana will also be prepared. However, it will be presented depending on the availability of the time at the venue.

Party sources said all the TDP leaders and MPs and MLAs have already been invited to attend the official function. The legislators including TRS and Congress will be invited to the event.
