The series, ‘Dharma Padam’ is a work based on the birth of Siddhartha, his understanding of the inner peace, enlightenment, evolving as Budhha, his preaching and maha nishkramanam as Gauthama Budhha. The work took the couple nearly 6 years to finish the series comprising of 41 paintings depicting each incident of the life of Buddha.

Speaking to City Tab, Guvvala Kenedy says,‘’We both work as guest faculty at SP University in Gulbarga and spend half a year there. We do own an institute that teaches art and painting at Rajuhmundry. Our journey began together and art is the soul of our relationship.

We earlier painted as many as 108 designs of Lord Shiva. Our works are exhibited at Hyderabad, Bangalore, Amritsar and various parts of Karnataka. The Buddha paintings are an attempt to interpret all of his life’s happenings and teachings within restricted canvas.’’

Ask Kenedy what he has on mind in connection to art and the city; he says that there is an intense need for setting up art galleries in the capital city such that local artistes are benefited. We are ready to give away our works of Dharma Padam to be exhibited at Amaravati gallery. Government should promote Andhra artists in a big way, he said.
