Dialogue King Sai Kumar to host capital ceremony

When one thinks of dubbing in the Telugu film industry, one is instantly reminded of actor Sai Kumar. Voice of actors like Suman and Rajsekhar, Sai Kumar got recognition as a dubbing star before his acting skills were appreciated for the movie ‘Police Story’.

Sai has been a Telugu voice of actors like Mohanlal, Mamooty, Vinod Khanna, Rajinikanth and (late) Raghuvaran. The “Dialogue King” has also been entrusted the duty of hosting the Amarvati Capital ceremony by the Andhra Pradesh Government on Wednesday.

Speaking to the CityTab, Sai Kumar shares his views and interests. What's your relationship with Vijayawada? Can you share a few memorable moments of yours here? What you like most in the city?

I have been visiting the city from many years and I will never skip away without having the darshan of Goddess Kanakadurga at Indrakeeladri. I won’t even come out of my house after offering special prayers to the Goddess as she was the mother of all.

Recently, I have also acted in a movie titled ‘Prasthanam’, picturised in the city. What was the first reaction, when you were asked to host the Amarvati Capital Ceremony?

I was surprised by the decision taken by the Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for entrusting the duty of hosting the capital ceremony.

I began my dubbing career with NTR’s movie ‘Samsaram’ and have completed 40 years as a dubbing artiste. Thanks to my father P J Sharma for blessing me with a fiercely voice. A big hurdle for me to host the event as it was being conducted with international standards.

As of now I have been doing a lot of homework for making the event a huge success. What’s the homework you have being doing for the success of the Amarvati Capital Ceremony event?

I have been studying the history and culture of Amarvati from past ten days. As of now my target is to host the event and keep up the faith of the Chief Minister had on me.

Is there any chance of developing Amarvati as Film Capital?

Of course, the residual Andhra Pradesh has also great potentiality in picturising the films. Many films have been picturised in and around Vijayawada. The government should focus on improving the infrastructure at the place and make it ready for shootings.

What are the initiates you have been taking to make ‘Fourth Lion App’ in reach of common public?

I need to thank the initiative of the Vijayawada Police Commisionerate for appointing me as the brand ambassador for the Fourth Lion App. I am ready to take the guidance of the police department for making the app in reach of common public to reduce the atrocity against women.

What are your upcoming projects?

Presently I am the enjoying the success of Kannada film ‘Rangi Taranga’. My further projects will feature Allu Arjun, Sai Dharma Teja and Rana under Geetha Arts, Sri Venkateswara Productions and Suresh productions.
