The ten day long Dasara festivities at the Kanakadurga Temple atop Indrakeeladri had concluded on a large note amidst chants and praises to the preceding Goddess. The temple priests and authorities have officially concluded the event by offering Purnahuthi to the idol by 12 noon on October Thursday.

As the Goddess is said to have achieved victory over evil, it is celebrated as Vijayadasami, on the finale of the festivities. The temple was painted red as number of Bhavani’s thronged the hill to witness the festivities. Their rush continued till Friday. Film actor and politician Krishnam Raju, Telangana politician Bandaru Dattatreya and others were among the noted personalities who visited the temple on the last day to seek blessings of the Goddess.

Many of the delegates who came to the city for capital foundation ceremony have also made it a point to visit the temple. Meanwhile, the temple authorities are anticipating heavy rush of devotees for another two days. The flow of Bhavani’s is more from the neighboring districts.
