Eluru: The Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA), Kota Ramachandrapuram has taken up awareness campaign through tribal folk art forms in West Godavari Agency areas on epidemics. On the directions of District Collector K Bhaskar, the ITDA Project Officer R V Suryanarayana has selcted the folk art farms of tribes.

The artistes performing playlets, burrakatha and other art forms in agency villages in West Godavari districtThe artistes have started the awareness campaign in tribal villages on the seasonal diseases and epidemics like Dengue, Malaria and Typhoid. They have also created awareness on the environment cleanliness.

Through street plays like art forms, the team is also creating awareness among tribes on benefit of education. The artistes performed playlets, folk songs and other cultural forms, touring all tribal villages.

These performances enlightened the tribes on various issues in Polavaram, Buttayagudem, Jeelugumilli, recently merged Velairpadu, Kukkunuru mandals. About 12 artists are performing in the villages of these mandals.

The ITDA Deputy DMHO Vamsilal Rathod supervising the teams on the health protection issues performance. The ITDA Project Officer RV Suryanarayana said the art forms are creating awareness among the tribes in the villages. He expressed satisfaction over the performance of the teams.
