Kirlampudi (East Godavari) Former minister and Kapunadu leader Mudragada Padmanabham, put forward fresh demands before Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on the issue of reservations for Kapu community.

The demands include Assembly resolution on Backward Class status to Kapus and forwarding the same to Parliament for acceptance and to make it law. Mudragada on Monday said that a mere announcement of a commission on BC status would not be accepted at this juncture.

The Kapunadu leader also announced the conduct of public meeting on the issue on January 31 between Annavaram and Tuni on the NH 16.
