Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu directed officials from coastal districts particularly in Chittoor, Kadapa and Nellore to be alert on the flood situations due to the heavy rains pouring continuously from the past two days.

Chandrababu instructed them to prepare all the safety measures on priority basis. The Chief Minister reviewed the conditions in Chittoor and Nellore districts that have been witnessing incessant downpour. He directed the officials to look into the areas and report to him.

The Chief Minister informed that the officials have been directed to prepare the arrangements for food and drinking water for which 57 help centres have opened in Nellore district. In view of the critical situation due to floods, following heavy rains, Chandrababu said that they were able to save a lot of crops and prevent dangerous situations with the linking of Krishna and Godavari rivers.
