In the wake of the attack on Chittoor mayor K Anuradha and her husband K Mohan, the YSR Congress leaders are suspecting that the Opposition leaders will be dragged into the conspiracy as the TD may influence the police in the probe.
YSRCP leader Mr Ambati Rambabu said that AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu in a bid to up its failure on the law and order front said that there is a political motive behind the murder. He added that false cases against Opposition party leaders have been taking place ever since Chandrababu came to power but instead of maintaining law and order, the police force is being used by the government for political manipulations.
The YSR Congess leader questioned as to why mayor Anurdha was not given the security when she sought police protection from higher officials and also why there were no working CCTV cameras at the corporation office.
The police informed that the clues are pointing at family and financial disputes but stated that they will probe the possible role of former MLA C.K. Babu aka Jayachandra Reddy of the YSR Congress as there was rivalry between him and Mr Mohan’s family. There had been attempts made on each other’s life too earlier.
