The coastal districts of Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema and the whole of Tamil Nadu are still witnessing a grave situation with incessant rains. Several places are waterlogged with rivers in spate and ponds breached causing the road and rail transport services coming to a standstill.

Due to the overflowing of rain water, the railway tracks are damaged as they are inundated with flood water causing the SCR to cancel 27 trains between Chennai and Nellore. Railways GM Ravindra Gupta reported that the repairing works of railway track between Gudur and Nellore have begun.

While the downpour has decreased in Nellore, hundreds of villages are still submerged and the villagers are waiting for relief teams. There are still areas that have not been visited by the NDRF teams and state relief teams from the past three days despite them working around the clock.
