UNESCO honours city NGO chief

The chief of Simeons Group, Anil Kumar Borugadda has received a UNESCO award for the NGO's contribution to fight Swine Flu in Andhra Pradesh state last year. The NGO was instrumental in supplying free preventive medicines to 42,000 people hailing from the under-privileged sections including the SC, ST communities in Andhra and Telangana districts.

Simeons Group, was founded by Anil to reach out to the weaker sections of the society and to improve the conditions of the poor through their health and literacy schemes. They also provide relief to the poor by distributing cloths, medicines, books and warm clothing. An award and a certificate of appreciation was sent to him recently by UNESCO.
