Ch Babu RaoSpeaking to media persons on Monday, the CPM leader said that the government has been neglecting both Vijayawda and Guntur cities to promote and develop Amaravati capital. He said that both the cities will suffer if the government tries to concentrate only on Amaravati.

He said the government has failed to release the central government funds including Rs 460 allotted for Vijayawada Municipal Corporation and Rs 540 crore allotted for Guntur Municipal Corporation.

The CPM leader said that Minister Devineni Umamaheswara Rao and TDP MLAs owe people explanation for the TDP government’s failure to develop Vijayawada and Guntur cities. He said that the TDP promised to pay salaries to municipal employees under 010 Account but failed to implement even after one and half year after coming to power.

He also added that the government has failed to clear Rs 200 crore arrears for housing in Vijayawada city. “The 38 TDP corporators remained helpless, though the government has been neglecting the development of Vijayawada city,” he concluded.
